Glencot HouseWhat can I say? A real shame - the actual hotel is beautiful set in fantastic grounds. But the service was terrible - we had to wait for ages for anyone to notice that we had turned up, the room was nothing special and worse had not been cleaned or the bed made from the previous occupant. Music annoyingly thudded on until the early hours and then resumed at first light on a Sunday - tried to pay and leave but again no-one around, actually had to go into the kitchens to ask for assistance. My money would have been better spent elsewhere - sorry Martin Miller but your staff could do with some training in service. |

Glencot HouseThis hotel used to be a wonderful family run hotel and we stayed there every year for the past five years. We go to the Glastonbury festival but see the hotel as an integral part of our holiday and always book extra nights, we book a year in advance. This year the hotel has new owners and when we went to confirm our booking we were told there were vacancies, we then discovered that they have more than doubled the cost of the rooms per night, we have always paid £125 but now for the same room they require £280. Given the cost we asked if they would honour our previous booking and were told no, so we asked if we could just stay for two nights and again were refused. This is an appalling way to treat customers, not only are we horrified by this turn of events we now have no accommodation for the festival period. The 'extensive' refurbishment the new owners talk about appears to be little more than a bit of paint and new furnishings in the bedrooms. How can what was a wonderful hotel treat it's regular customers so shoddily? |
