I chose to stay at Cranleigh because of all the positive reviews. Even so, the reality was so much better than the expectations. Every comfort is catered for and all the amenities are blended well with the Victorian decor. Spare toothbrush, floss, scissors and other items that you are likely to forget are stored in a pretty box on the dresser. Hair drier is in a sack that matches the bedspread. Robes in the very nicely smelling antique wardrobe. Modern bathroom with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Television larger than mine at home with DVD's available for the guests use. Marvelous breakfast and a hot tub with very soothing jets of water. The proprietors are friendly, knowledgeable of the area and very helpful. This was the best stay in any hotel or B&B that I've ever had and I've stayed in some very nice places around the world.

Cranleigh is an absolutely beautiful guest house, located within a 25 minute walking distance from Bath city centre. If you are not feeling quite so energetic there are bus routes nearby and the park-and-ride, or you can always order a taxi (approx £5 for a trip into Bath). Denise & Colin, who run the place, will be able to show you the bus stops. I cannot recommend Cranleigh highly enough! We stayed for five nights and found a warm welcome, superb accomodation and delicious breakfasts each morning. The place has a very Victorian feel, with all the rooms filled with period furniture and creature comforts normally found only in luxury hotels. We both loved it and would definitely stay here again. Oh, and don't forget to book a hot tub session...

A fine hotel that feels a little like a B&B. Beautiful classic furnishings and views that make you sigh with relaxation, you won't be sorry you booked here. Breakfast is cooked to your specifications with friendly staff (cereals, yoghurt and juices offered as well as cooked breakfast). Hotel about 3 km out of town (25 minutes walk to city), but more than worth it to stay in this classy setting. My wife and I stayed here on valentine's day and it was just perfect. Wouldn't try anywhere else in Bath.
